- How Did You First Get Introduced to the World of Real Estate?
I’ve always been drawn to high energy people, situations and careers. Over twenty-one years ago I saw just how popular Loudoun County was in terms of new homes, developments, and families. Real estate allowed me the ability to match my desire to help people, with an attention to detail for financials to really create a perfect opportunity for myself and team members to begin to establish ourselves in Northern Virginia. I’ve lived here my entire life, and have forged great friendships with clients throughout the thousands of transactions. Yes, I’ve received awards from RE/MAX Hall of Fame, but most importantly I’m able to offer a needed service, and help others while creating a fantastic career.
- What is 1 Tip You Give to Home Owners Attempting to Sell Their Homes?
Don’t attempt to hide, or quickly “fix” any major or minor issues in a home. If you sell a home that doesn’t look “move in ready” do not expect top market value for your home. Landscaping, lighting, paint, and of course functionality all play a huge role in how much you can initially sell your home. Location is also the main determinate in price, but since you can’t change your homes location, you’ll have to maximize what you do have, and that means creating a picture to a potential buyer of “I can see our family living here”.
- What Makes Loudoun Virginia so Special?
Loudoun County offers a wide range of homes, from middle-class to the super affluent. It’s grown in desire due to an influx of families and businesses over the last twenty years. Because of the demand, selling a home in Loudoun usually means quicker turn-around times, as well as price point, juxtaposed to buying a home, which gives buyers a great deal of flexibility depending on their budget and needs. In short, Northern Virginia offers benefits both to buyers and sellers because it has developed into a hot market.
- Can You Give Buyers a Tip When Choosing a Home?
Yes, as discussed earlier, location is probably the single biggest factor. School systems for many, distance from neighbors, how much acreage, taxes, zoning ordinances, etc are all major factors. Because your home is static, choosing the right town, whether it’s Leesburg or Ashburn, or the other municipalities will impact your commute, taxes and budget. Since purchasing a home is one of the bigger investments, maximizing the budget without overstretching oneself financially is the goal.
